Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova have revealed the name of their fourth child: Romeo. The announcement came via a recent Instagram post featuring all four of their children, captioned with their names: Lucy, Nicolas, Mary, and Romeo.
The choice of “Romeo” is notable for its romantic connotations. The name, of Italian origin, means “Pilgrim to Rome” but is widely recognized through William Shakespeare’s tragedy Romeo and Juliet. This association makes it a popular, though somewhat dramatic, choice among celebrities; Victoria and David Beckham, Mike Sorrentino, and Jon Bon Jovi have all used the name for their sons.
Iglesias and Kournikova have been a long-term couple since meeting on the set of Iglesias’s 2001 music video “Escape.” Though speculation about a secret marriage exists (Anna’s Instagram handle is “Anna Kournikova Iglesias”), they have not publicly confirmed any formal nuptials.
Their family already includes twins Nicolas and Lucy, born in December 2017, and daughter Mary, born in January 2020. The newest addition, Romeo, arrived on December 22, 2025, as indicated by Kournikova’s Instagram announcement: “My Sunshine 12.17.2025.”
Choosing a name with such strong literary ties suggests a deliberate nod to romance and passion, setting the stage for a dramatic, yet undoubtedly loving, upbringing.
